Terms, Privacy and Disclaimer

1. Registration and attendance

All registrations for the Australian Conference of Economists 2026 (ACE 2026) must be completed via the official registration portal. Registration is confirmed only once the applicable fee has been paid in full and a confirmation email and tax invoice have been issued.

• Early‑bird and standard fees, and their respective closing dates, are set out on the registration portal.
• The Economic Society of Australia (ACT Branch) (the Organiser) reserves the right to decline or cancel a registration that does not comply with these terms.

2. Cancellations, refunds and substitutions

Cancellations must be notified in writing to ACE2026@con-sol.com.

Refunds will be processed in line with the following:

• If you notify us via email on or before Sunday 7 June, an administration fee of AUD$150.00 (including GST) applies
• If cancellation is after Sunday 7 June, a cancellation fee of 50% of the full cost of your registration applies
• Cancellation fees will also apply to non-paid accounts after this date.
• No refunds will be made for non‑attendance or for unused portions of the Conference or social program.

Delegates may nominate a substitute to attend in their place, by notifying the Organiser in writing at ACE2026@con-sol.com.

3. Presenter obligations

• At least one author of each accepted paper must register for ACE 2026 by the presenter registration deadline and be registered for at least the day on which their presentation is scheduled.
• Submissions may be removed from the program if presenter registration is not completed by the specified date.

4. Program changes, event variations and force majeure

The Organiser reserves the right to amend any aspect of the Conference program, including but not limited to speakers, session times, social events and the venue, where reasonably required.

• If circumstances beyond the Organiser’s reasonable control (for example, public health restrictions, natural disaster or other force majeure events) affect the Conference, the event may be cancelled, postponed, relocated or delivered in an alternative format (such as hybrid or virtual).
• If the event is cancelled, registration fees paid will be refunded, less any reasonable costs already incurred. Details will be published on the Conference website if this occurs.

5. Code of conduct

Delegates, speakers, sponsors and guests are expected to behave in a professional and respectful manner at all times. Harassment, discrimination or other inappropriate behaviour will not be tolerated.

• The Organiser may take action it considers appropriate, including refusing entry or requiring an individual to leave the event, without refund, in response to unacceptable behaviour.

6. Privacy

ACE 2026 is committed to protecting your privacy. Information collected in connection with proposed participation in any aspect of the event will be used only for the purposes of planning, delivering and evaluating the event, and for related communications that you agree to receive.

• Personal information collected during registration may be used to manage your attendance, communicate program updates, confirm payments and provide post‑event information or surveys.
• Data may be shared with service providers engaged by the Organiser (for example, registration platform, venue and caterers) solely for Conference‑related purposes.
• You may opt out of non‑essential communications (for example, marketing emails about future events) by using the unsubscribe link in those emails or by contacting the Organiser.

The Organiser will handle personal information in accordance with applicable Australian privacy laws and its broader privacy practices.

7. Intellectual property

All intellectual property rights in ACE 2026, including the program, branding and materials distributed at or in connection with the event, are owned by the Economic Society of Australia (ESA) or its licensors, unless otherwise stated.

• Conference materials (including slides, recordings and publications) are provided for your personal, non‑commercial use only, and may not be reproduced, adapted or distributed without the prior written permission of the rights holder.
• Presenters retain intellectual property in their own work but grant the Organiser a non‑exclusive licence to use reasonable excerpts (for example, titles, abstracts, session recordings or photographs) for the purposes of promoting and documenting the Conference.
• Logos and trade marks displayed on this site remain the property of their respective owners and must not be used without permission.

8. Website and content disclaimer

While the Organiser takes reasonable care to ensure that information on this website and in Conference materials is accurate and up to date, details may change and errors or omissions may occur.

• The Organiser does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness or suitability of the information for any particular purpose and accepts no responsibility for any loss arising from reliance on this information, except where required by law.
• Links to third‑party sites are provided for convenience only and do not imply endorsement; the Organiser has no control over the content or privacy practices of those sites.

9. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, the Organiser is not liable for any loss, damage, cost or expense suffered by any person in connection with the Conference or this website, except to the extent caused by the Organiser’s negligence or wilful misconduct.

• Liability for any claim in connection with the Conference is, to the extent permitted by law, limited to the amount of registration fees paid by the relevant delegate.
• Delegates are responsible for arranging their own insurance cover for travel, accommodation, personal property and any other matters arising in connection with attendance at the Conference.

10. Photography, recording and media

• The Organiser or its agents may photograph, film or otherwise record Conference sessions and events for reporting and promotional purposes.
• By attending ACE 2026, you consent to your image, likeness or voice being included in such material, unless you advise the Organiser in writing in advance.

11. Changes to this page

These Terms, Privacy and Disclaimer provisions may be updated from time to time. The version published on this page at the time of your registration or use of the site will apply to that interaction.
