About the conference
The Australian Conference of Economists (ACE) is the flagship annual event of the Economic Society of Australia. ACE 2026 will bring together economists from academe, government, business and the broader policy community for four days of discussion and debate.
The conference will cover a wide range of topical economic issues, including climate change and environmental externalities, challenges in social policy, how governments can design and implement policy in an era of declining trust and misinformation, and contemporary economic questions such as productivity growth and tax reform.
Registration for ACE 2026 includes access to all plenary and concurrent sessions, conference catering on the days you are registered to attend, and entry to the Welcome Reception. Tickets to the Alan Auerbach dinner on Wednesday and the official conference dinner on Thursday can be purchased during registration (or by emailing Conference Solutions) for an additional $180 per dinner. Plenaries & special sessions
ACE 2026 will feature plenary addresses from leading international and Australian economists, alongside special sessions on key policy themes.
Concurrent sessions
Concurrent sessions will showcase research from across the profession, with opportunities for early‑career economists and students to present their work.
Careers & networking
A careers fair and social events will give delegates the chance to connect with employers, collaborators and colleagues from around Australia.

Location
ACE 2026 will be held at the University of Canberra in Bruce, in Canberra’s north, a short distance from the city centre and Canberra’s key national institutions.
